Director Game Development Survey — Results Have Arrived

October 17th, 2006

For those that are interested, Dean Utian conducted a survey related to game development using Adobe Director.

The total number of responses was 227. However, not all responded to every question. While this is a relatively small sample group, there were clear trends in the wishes of users.

To see all the interesting results, drop by and see the full results of the survey.

It’s too bad to read a lot of negative comments concerning the future of Director. I do not think Adobe will abandon an authoring environment as powerfull as Director, even in it’s current state, you can do things with it that you can only dream of in Flash. For casual programs, Flash might be the answer, but for making a professional looking application, that can stand proudly next to other desktop applications, Director still rules, and with a new version coming soon, will hopefully have all the features we take for granted these days. For me, Flash is just not made for desktop applications, that’s Director’s turf, here’s hoping Adobe will lift it to new levels!

I agree with all of that!
