Shockwave 11 has arrived.

March 25th, 2008

The links for Shockwave download are now live to Shockwave 11.0.0.0.

Is that enough zeros?

Note: If you are on MacIntel you may have to go to the alternates page due to the redirect issues that MacIntels have had to deal with for the past 2 years.

i get a no havok xtra whenever i try to play a 3d shockwave game on mactel…do they all need to get updated with ageia?

From what I understand the Havok Xtra is no longer being updated on Mac (and Windows?), so things that use Havok will need to be updated.

Havok seems to have dropped out of the Macromedia/Adobe world when Dir MX 2004 came out, since the Xtra was no longer included. At that point you had to “borrow” the Xtra from the full installation of Shockwave (where it was still being included). That gave a good indication that Havok was going…going…and now gone.

It will be interesting to see how things go with the new AGEIA PhysX engine (the Dynamiks.xtra I guess as I glance through the Xtras installed).

Mactel plug in is so slooooow. I think it’s still being emulated in some way. Check this out:

Left is safari, right is ie running in vmware xp. Both shockwaves are running at the same time on my mac. This is a time based animation….I don’t get it. Lame.

Also both mactel safari and xp have the new 11 plugin.

    Shockwave still doesn’t support MIAWs.
Anyone have any ideas for a work around?

The link doesn’t redirect to the nasty “rosetta” page anymore!
